POP 3 Emails

email

Setting up your POP3 email accounts is a lot easier than most people think, but it’s the little things that you don’t know that sometimes frustrate you.

These guidelines should work fine in Mozilla Thunderbird, MS Outlook as well as the “add email account” feature on your smart phone.

Screen 1

STEP 1: Open MS Outlook

Screen 2

STEP 2: Select Tools > E-mail Accounts

Screen 3

STEP 3: Select "Add a new e-mail account"

Screen 4

STEP 4: Select "POP 3"

Screen 5

STEP 5: (replace demo text with your own information)

User Information
Your Name: First Lastname
E-mail address: me@mywebsite.com

Logon Information
Username: Mr. Lastname
Password: *********
Incoming mail server (POP 3): mail.mywebsite.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.mywebsite.com

In most cases the "incoming" and "outgoing" are the same. If you want to use the email attached to your website's domian name, your incoming / outgoing mail server will look somehting like the example text.

NOTE:

(1) In Mozilla, go to FILE >> NEW >> MAIL ACCOUNTS. to setup a new email account.

(2) In the case of POP3 emails, sometimes you have to type the entire email address AS your username (example: myname@myhost.com)

FOR MOBILE USERS: The steps should be the same for your iphone/blackberry or other smartphones. Check your manufacturer's manual to be sure.

Having tech problems? .. I can handle that
